Welcome Address by Prabhuram Ramamurthy, SIDA President
Mr. S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, spoke about India’s mission to be a global AI leader. His insights on the shift of technology from metros to tier-2 and tier-3 cities were enlightening, along with the government’s efforts to create Global Capability Centres (GCCs). This will significantly impact the workforce in regions like Madurai, where digital economy contributions are set to rise from 13% to 20% by the end of this decade.
Strengthening Indo-Dutch Relations : Mr. Ewout de Wit, Consul-General of the Netherlands, shared how the Indo-Dutch relationship is evolving under the “WAH!” agenda, focusing on Water, Agriculture, Health, and expanding into cybersecurity and semiconductors. He highlighted the global business impact of Tamil Nadu, citing ZOHO’s investment.
Panel on Government Support : Mr. MAHADESHA V and Mr. Purushothaman K shared insights on the role of government initiatives in supporting the growth of the tech industry, providing valuable guidance on what businesses can expect in the future.
Global Expansion Insights : I had the pleasure of moderating the session with Mr. Karthikeyan Selvaraj, Mrs. Karthika Kannan , and Mr. Bhaskar Verma on expanding businesses globally. They are discussed strategies for successful market penetration, building sustainable growth, and fostering cross-border collaborations.
Catering to the Indian Market : Mr. CT Ramanathan gave an in-depth look at the importance of localizing products and services to cater to India’s diverse market and maximize business opportunities.
The Future of Quantum Computing & AI : Mr. Sreeraman Thiagarajan delved into how quantum computing and AI will revolutionize industries, solve complex challenges, and open new frontiers in innovation.
